Chamber Board

A board of 12 Chamber members lead the Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber Board of Directors is chosen by the membership through an election each November. Board members serve 3-year terms, and rotate out of their term December 31. The board consists of 12 members, including the executive director who is a non-voting board member. The board makes decisions for the Chamber regarding policy, establishes an annual budget and program of work, elects the offices of the Chamber and hires the executive director. Chamber members who are interested in joining the board may express interest to the Chamber office in early fall of each year.
Fellow board members vote the five officer positions on the board each January. The officers of the Chamber have specific responsibilities, but are no more powerful or responsible than any other board member. The officers collectively form the Executive Committee, which coordinates the board agenda and the work of the committees and establishes interim policy for the Chamber between meetings of the board. The officers of the Chamber include the president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer and past president. The executive director serves as secretary.

I have lived in Prineville for almost 20 years, and love and appreciate our wonderful little town. Upon arriving in Crook County I became very active in the Chamber, its committees and board. I feel very thankful to live and work in this place I call home. Prineville reminds me of the little train that chugs along and says “I think I can, I think I can,” and then does. Remember “if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.” Be involved it is fun and very rewarding.

I have been married for 42 years to my high school sweetheart. I enjoy gardening and projects around the house, spending time with our 3 grand kids and their families and the many outdoor activities available here in central Oregon. As a marketing consultant with the Central Oregonian, I am in constant contact with the business community in Crook County which gives me a unique opportunity to bring insights to the Chamber Board. Being a Chamber member, and especially on the Board of Directors and the Ambassador committee, allows me to help promote the business community while being an active participant of events in our area.
