Education

The Miss Crook County / Miss Prineville Scholarship Program was started in 2002.  It is an official preliminary to Miss Oregon and Miss America.  Contestants and titleholders must be attending or planning to attend college and must have a community service project, called a “platform”.

Evergreen Academy is bringing a brand new preschool and childcare center to Prineville, OR.  The center is state certified with a professionally educated staff to serve children’s cognitive, motor and social needs.  Evergreen Academy is excited to offer quality child care and in becoming a community partner in Prineville.

The Crook County School District has an enrollment of 3,200 students grades kindergarten through 12th grade. The District includes one high school grades 9-12; one middle school grades 6-8; three in town elementary schools grades K-5; and two rural elementary schools.

The Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of education, leadership, the arts and charitable activities in Crook County. The programs supported by the Foundation include developing an endowed scholarship fund for high school graduates, Leadership Crook County, and Picnic in the Park.

Crook County Extension Service is supported by Oregon State University and Crook County. The Extension service provides education and information based on timely research to help Oregonians solve problems and develop skills.

Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC)provides the opportunity for local government and private industry to come together to determine the direction of a community. COIC’s mission is to  provide education, retraining and economic development.
